Phoenix Slotcar Group race both 1:24 and 1:32 slot cars. Our 32 scale class categories include; American Sports Cars, F1, Le-Mans, Rally, Sports Cars, Touring Cars, Nascar Trucks, Stockers, Mini's Modern Nascar, Midgets, Group 5 and Group A, Can-Ams and Mini-Z just to name a few.
How much does it cost?
The goods news is that you do not need to buy a car from every class in order to come racing with Phoenix, rather need only purchase one car from each of the seven or so most popular classes that we run. Then all you need to do is buy some basic tools including:
do I need to buy new cars?
Not always. While it is nice to have brand new cars it can be rather expensive. Quite often, club members have second hand cars for sale, all of which are race ready and in excellent condition. Buying second hand cars not only makes you race ready, but would also help reduce the initial starting cost even further.
types of hand controllers
Generally track owners will have standard Parma controllers which new members can use until they upgrade and buy their own. However these aren't as good and as responsive to the more upmarket controllers. Whilst not necessary, you may decide to invest in your own Defalco, Professor Motor or Slotit hand controller. Unfortunately they cost a great deal more, however they are well worth the expense.
